Mahaveerar Jain Temple, Pudhukamur, Thiruvannamalai
Mahaveerar Jain Temple is located at Pudhukamur in Arani Town in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. Pudhukamur is a locality in Arani town. It resembles like a North India Jain temple. Two octagon shaped structures are unified by line walls and a staircase. One chamber is used as prayer pavilion and another has two tiers of Garbagrihas.




The bottom one has Shri Mahaveerar statue and top one has Shri Santhinathar Jinar statue is closed upon by prism shaped Vimana and a Kalasha on the peak. North facing entrance gate was surrounded by walls on all sides. One side of the open corridor has garden with plants. The Mahaveerar statue is made of black marble stone of absolute carving in the meditating (sitting) posture.




The beautiful polished idol was established on a plinth, is also associated with metal idols of some important Thirthankars, Siddha model, Nantheeswara Deepam model, Navadevatha, Panchaparameshti. On the top chamber has Shri Santhinathar, white marble stone of absolute carving in standing posture, is on a platform.



All poojas and rituals are conducted as per Jain customs and procedures. Pudhukamur is a locality in Arani town. Pudhukamur is located at about 60 Kms from Thiruvannamalai and 44 Kms from Vandavasi. Nearest Railway Station is located at Arani and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
